Some Nomad doodles

Still one of my favourite threads.

Nice to see you on here again. You need to post some of your latest great sculpts on this forum! :slightly_smiling_face:

Some new stuff… Dragon´s teatime! Played bit with new emissive shaders on v1.50

So we’ll done! Congratulations. So much fun as well :grinning:

Edit: Btw. Is smoke sculpted as well?

yeah smoke is sculpted as well. Just added low opacity for it´s shader. Also probably not that visible but boiling water in the kettle uses refraction shader.

MyProject3 - Unreal Editor 2021-06-09 11-02-28.mp4 - Google Drive Tried to import Nomad model straight to Unreal 5. As nanite asset (9.5 million tris) Works pretty well, but unreal doesn´t support multiple vertex maps so if i wanted to have roughness and metalness there i would have to bake that into texture and UV the model. At that point i´d probably optimized and baked the model into textures anyway since super highpoly models are bit pain to UV.

Looks impressive and towering running around the model. :+1:t2:

Dope sculpt! UE environment is awesome too.

Ha! Well done!
I chuckled at the thought of a dragon needing to use a stove

You could try using something like Rizom UV or similiar…It’s supposed to be really good at dealing with very high poly counts. (if you don’t mind the added step of using a separate app just for uv’s)

Yeah not really into getting standalone uv software. Since highpoly count models are pretty labor intensive to work anyway. I usually do polyreduce in houdini and auto uv that in substance painter. Then just split it more manageable uv islands to pack better. It´s pretty painless workflow for video game assets. But here it just wanted to see if i just could drop in some raw nomad sculpts to unreal. Yeah you can but Unreal doesn´t have support for that workflow to get second vertex color set. So i just need to do the houdini thing anyway if i want to use nomad stuff in unreal. (or something similar)

Hard surface cat. Everything is made in nomad just used couple tileable alphas that i made in substance designer.
