wow this is so amazing! Stunning effort!
I have M1 ipad pro with 16gb of ram. Final model is something in 11 million poly range. Could easily optimize it more. Current model would run in my old 2018 ipad pro easily. How ever extra buffer that 16gb of ram will provide certainly helped a lot. But i usually make one part in pretty highpolycount and once i´m satisfied with it i´ll decimate it down to 20-30% of original polycount. You can get pretty low polycounts on hardsurface bits because there is a lot of flat surfaces.
Thanks for info!
6 M polys is my limit. I can see great diference between iPad pro to not pro.
Time to change my iPad…
There is patience in that sculpt. Very nice indeed.
Definitely need a thumbnail gallery top row of the most favourite sculpts like the Zbrush community.
I think you may need to change your thread title……”some nomad doodles”’……bro!?
Well i´m Finnish after all
How do you get the edges that sharp. Outstanding work. I have a long way to go.
I love the placment of the gears and pistons and other mechanics. Looks like it took a lot of thought, but if it didnt you are a genius.
I like the punches of orange they give a warm effect to the cold grey.
Thanks! It´s more of a result of iterative process. I tend to keep my first sketches fairly loose and easy to iterate on. Remove things that don´t fit and adjust shapes to keep the overall readability and detail balanced so it doesn´t just end up being layers of mechanical noise. I usually don´t move out from sketch phase until i´m satisfied with proportions. Once you´re happy it´s pretty easy to polish the model since you can only focus on detail work and know that overall model will look good in the end. Here´s a rough process from first doodles to final model
Nice workflow, you really inspire me
Nice to see your process, thanks for sharing!
