Wrapping Texture?

Is there a way to uniformly wrap a texture around a sculpt? I’ve tried stamps and brushes but it just doesn’t work. I want the diamond pattern to be consistent throughout the entire sculpt

UV unwrap the sphere, or choose keep primitive UVs before inserting the sphere. Choose your texture and put it in the opacity slot, changing the scale to suit the tiling numbers you want. Then add a layer & reproject to vertex.
Then in layer control, select colour mask & use it to deform the mesh as you want.

OR, if you don’t need deformation, convert the texture to a normal map and apply that to the UV unwrapped object. Job done
