Tap to hide only works when Hidden is enabled in Toolbar interface

I recently updated to 1.85 and I think this is a bug, but I’ve found that “tap to hide face groups” only works when I have have “Hidden” enabled for the Toolbox under the Interface settings. When it’s disabled and I have the hide tool selected, tapping on a face group with my finger or apple pencil does not hide it.

I have a 4th generation iPad Pro 12.9”, and I’m updated to the latest OS, 17.4.1.
