Hi guys, I’m using a Wacom Intuos Pro M with a 3D pen in Nomad for PC. On the whole, the software is excellent. The only annoying irritating thing that hampers my workflow is that I can’t pivot around a mesh if the pen cursor is over that mesh. I instead have to zoom out and hover my pen cursor over a blank spot to pivot or rotate around my mesh. It will then pivot around the area I last worked on. If the cursor is over the mesh and I try to rotate/pivot, it just triggers the brush, although it’s not even touching the tablet. I’ve attached a screenshot of how I have my 3D Wacom pen set up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
How do you try to pivot? You should use right click.
In the bindings, rotate should be assigned to right click with the bind option “force camera” enabled.
Normally it’s the default.
Thanks for responding! I have it assigned to right click already. It’s just I would like to pivot/rotate without having to zoom out and hover over the background while holding the right click button.
But I don’t get it, normally if you right click and “force camera” is on, you don’t have to hit the background.
Hmmm, that’s interesting. When I go into the bindings I can’t toggle the rotation checkbox on, but if I click on the three dots to the right, it does give me the option of “force camera”. Even if that is on though, I still have to hover over the background. I’ve attached some screenshots for you.
I’ve tried everything, but I can’t bind those functions to right click, middle click, etc. I even tried using the express keys on my tablet by assigning right click and middle click functions to them. Same with the mouse, can’t get it to register right click or middle click. Regular keyboard commands, shift, etc. work… I’m on the most current Nomad PC version 2.6.
Wacom tablet drivers are also up-to-date.
And with the mouse you can register them?
No, I can’t register them with a mouse either. It does the same thing as when using my Wacom pen. Just my keyboard works for registering bindings in Nomad. ![]()
I’m not sure the issue is with Nomad, maybe a Wacom thing.
Can you disable Wacom in the About menu (nomad icon top left).
Maybe restart Nomad after disabling this option.
I actually totally turned off my Wacom tablet. Trying to set a binding with just the mouse still doesn’t work, unfortunately. I might try uninstalling Nomad and then re-installing it to see if that does anything. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just have to keep working by zooming out and clicking on the background to rotate, until you can figure out what the issue might be. Nomad is still such a great program, much better than Blender’s sculpting capabilities. Thanks for making it available for PC users!
Yes, that worked! I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I can change the bindings to right click, etc., now. Thanks so much for your help, Stephane!
