is it possible to export nomad colors to and have them show up on blender? i have layered coloring on my 3d but when i export it to blender, i dont see the coloring just the model. how can i fix that?
Only export format you can use for layers is GLB.
You have to make a material in blender to show vertex colour channels. If the layer colours don’t work in blender then you may have to flatten the layers before export - layers in blender usually work for morph targets but I’m not sure about colour.
PBR info is in the RGB channel for roughness, metallic & masking
The best workflow I’ve found is below
- Create high poly model with rich colors and very detailed
- Clone and decimate (use the controls to make the mesh “pretty similar” but don’t over do it. Target <10k for blender model
- Use the UV gen button on the low poly model
- Use the create textures from high poly model button (same window as the create UV)
- Then export the low poly with texture as mentioned above as a glb and you can import great models to blender.
The colors you see in Nomad are muted to what they actually are. The grey sphere you see is actually bright white in blender. So you’ll need to plan for that in nomad or use a mix node in blender to bring the colors down .
