Measurements

Hi anybody familiar with scale or measurements, is there a way to see what scale working in object size etc?
Or is it not available in the app I can’t seem to find it.

The only way to do it is to create a scale reference

So if you want something 7 feet long, make a cude with a xyz of 7 and work accordingly

It does not make much sense to say Nomad is in millimeters. A 3d software works in terms of “unit”. Whether it’s centimeters, millimeters or meters is only relevant when you send it to the 3d printer. And usually you can change this setting in printer softwares. 1mm sphere to start with is crazy

It’s 1 unit. I could have chosen to start with a 10 unit sphere, it’s an arbitrary choice. For some softwares, 1unit is 1mm for other its 1m, etc, There is no right or wrong. It only matters if you want to 3d print it. You should expect to scale by 100/10 (no one should use inches though) when you use multiple softwares that don’t share the same convention, it’s common. However it would be nice if you have a parameter for wall thickness and so on. For printing parts you can always scale back in another program. Just another way of thinking.

To be fair its as @stephomi says… 1 is the most logical unit because 1 can be anything

Just then work to your own scale and use the exact measurements when you need that kind of accuracy.

If you’re trying to get the measurements for printing, What I like to do is send my stl file to Microsoft 3D Builder then scale it there. I use 3D builder to fix my models before printing anyway which I definitely recommend.

now if that’snot the case well then I have no good input lol!
