Help on design | beginner

Hey guys! I recently got the app and I have been doing so sample projects but I have been stuck on this one problem for days.

Not sure how to describe it but I created a magic wand sketched that I wanted to recreate on nomad. I tried to use mask and selmask to create a type of embossing around the handle part but I cant seem to be able to create it.

Can someone help me? All help and critiques are much appreciated!

Pulling out features from an already limited surface by masking is unlikely to give optimal results. Surface topology would have to be fairly high (dense mesh) to develop any meaningful shape. You may as well use a standard brush to outright draw the shapes as masking only makes you jump extra steps to reach similar results:

IMO, you’re better off adding the features as discrete shapes. This gives you far better control of its position, size, and orientation. As this example demonstrates, a tube is conjured to climb up a wand. The tube allows a tapering of its thickness, a custom defined cross-section, and twisting. The ability to reposition its nodes results in a non-uniform, organic look.

Before Validating the Tube, make and hide a clone for backup. The validated version now allows for further sculpting if desired. Select the Tube and its Wand and experiment with Booleaning or Voxel Marge at a higher Mesh Resolution.

The Quad Remesher tool found in the iPadOS version will optimize the mesh in a more intelligent manner… so that it flows and follows the organic crawling vine.

Omg thank you so much for this!
