This is great stuff @Jurre_de_Groot I’m currently seeking an alternative to Maxon Zbrush after 15+ years. I’m debating between this and Blender, how have you found your time with Nomad so far? UI Navigation is always the first struggle

Heya!
Glad you’re liking it! If you scroll up in this thread I go over some UI changes, so if you haven’t seen it yet I suggest you check it out.

Sadly for me, I currently can’t justify changing to Nomad professionally, as there’s a lot of neat features in ZBrush I am still sort of dependent on (Maybe I am stubborn lol). But it should definitely be possible! When I casually sculpt on the iPad I will still always use Nomad, as it has customizable buttons and is very iPad friendly. So after I got used to the controls and set it up very close to ZBrush navigation, and used some of my favorite all time brushes included in this brush pack, it’s a delight to do quick sculpts or just casual sculpts in!

It’s miles ahead from Blender sculpting, but you will still need to keep Blender on the side if you’re doing lowpoly/retopo operations. Also doing quick models before sculpting is sometimes better and nicer. Some of which I usually always do in ZBrush with Zmodeler (one of my dependencies lol).

So yeah, all in all I suggest trying it out, and try to do at least one professional project without ZBrush and see what is lacking and what you can make up for with Blender or other solutions.

Keep on brushing

I’m a long time Zbrush user and switched to Nomad on my Mac and it has been great so far. I have adjusted some brushes and even added brushes made by others in these forums that feel like Zbrush brushes. Some of them work so well I forget I’m not in Zbrush. I am hoping for low polygon editing tools like Zmodeler but absolutely love the tube and lathe tools for making curves in Nomad. I have customized the UI and added several shortcut windows that are extremely helpful. Editing in layers has really been a game changer for me as well. Good luck with your decision. I do open Blender and play with the sculpting tools but I always go back to Nomad for my main projects. You can check out the demo here if you have not tested it yet: https://nomadsculpt.com
