I believe it is because of the shader. There should be no that gap at that place. Let me change a another shader I love.

Yes, the hair is difficult, because I could only use tube shape for it. I might do the hair in Blender.
But Nomad is really awesome enough for me to get what base shape I want. 
Stylised hair is something I was struggling with recently as well. But itâs a nice challenge to do. Well, I gave up with that model, 
but that doesnât mean you canât.
Almost realistic Hair can be fun in Nomad as well. Southern GFX made this nice tut using plane stripes. I found a PBR material with less opacity a bit metallic and less roughness quite convincing for short hair. You can see it in my thread âSculpted joyâ the âMushroom loverâ
But managing long hair and a pony tail? Different task.

Thank you, knacki, for these information that I have neve seen before. I doubt if my ipad 8 could run that much hair poly. So the best way I want to try is to just sculpt the stylized hair instead.

Hope Google translation was not a total Desaster. My client in Beijing often giggles when reading those. 
Yes. it works well for translating Chinese. Especially when it is not too complex.
