Why paint is fuzzy?

Its simple - split the mesh, paint as you like, add 2 levels of subdivision to one part & then drag the slider back down to remove the subdivision. “Delete higher” subdivision & rejoin the split objects. You get a sharp join and therefore a sharp painted division :slight_smile:

It seems like sometimes it works better to subdivide the other part, not the splitted piece

I guess it works because the subdivision possibly creates new vertices around the edges. When you join them there is a double up of vertices & they don’t get welded & therefore don’t share colour information with each other, which makes the blur. Just a guess
