Voxel merge, lokal area?

When I merge two objects, to preserve the details I have all ready add, I need to turn up the resolution before I use Voxel merge.

Is it possible to only add a higher resolution locally, where I merge the two objects instead of the full model? - so I can keep the higher resolution where its needed.

I tried to use mask, but it seem that Voxel merge ignores this.
Any advices are welcome

Not with voxel remeshing. The only way you can lower the areas that don’t require the extra polygons is to remesh at a high level and then use dynamic topology with the smooth brush with intensity turned completely down.

The way you were hoping only works with global remesh but it won’t join the merged objects as one mesh. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Adam

Not sure I understand what you 100%, but it seems that Wat I was looking for is not possible.

Still a lot to learn. Thanks for the input.

It’s going to take a bit of testing and playing with the tools to see what works best for you. But voxel remesh and using the dynamic topology brush at different number levels will help to add or remove unwanted geometry. :+1:t2:
