Tube Tool Improvement: Independent Node Rotation/3-Axis Control for Hard Surface

Hi Stéphane,

I’ve been pushing Nomad Sculpt to its absolute limits by modeling a highly detailed Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 entirely on my smartphone (Vivo V40) using only my fingers and the free version of the app.

I’ve encountered a major technical hurdle with the Tube tool: The nodes lack independent 3-axis rotation and deformation control.

This makes it nearly impossible to create complex aerodynamic parts, like the front lip or side skirts, where the surface needs to “twist” or bend in specific directions to maintain proper surface continuity. Currently, moving a node often distorts the entire plane in a way that is difficult to correct for precision hard-surface work.

My Suggestion:

If we could rotate or deform individual nodes (XYZ) before validation, it would allow for much higher precision. This feature would truly allow mobile artists to compete with desktop software.

I have attached my R33 model (currently at 1.3M vertices) and a diagram showing exactly where the current tool limits the creative process.

Thank you for this amazi

Buy the app.

I think they mean a gizmo function for individual tube points its not something we got in the paid version yet

The only temp solutions i can offer atm is using a plane (if you use additive display and 0 opacity or make an erase layer with 0 opacity it will become invisible. You can put a reference behind it and positionlock it for easy tracing) and snap the tube to it for some precision, or making the sections separate tubes or using mask&facegroups after validation to bend the tube. :grimacing:
