"Show Paint" per object

Turning on/off the “Show Paint” under the lighting tab currently does it for the entire project. It would be helpful to move that to the Scene tab to be able to turn it on/off per object as sometimes painting in eyes, or a hairline, may be helpful context cues for the model but you may not want to show the paint on the entire model. For example, I have this model, and I want to just turn off his face paint, but want to keep his eyes.

I understand that this is a feature request, but at the moment it’s only possible to disable the color per object by transferring the object’s color to a separate layer. That process is very straightforward, and once the color is on its own layer, you can simply turn off the color layer or hide it using the eye icon.

So basically the feature is already there.

Yeah, you’re right. But the way it is, is that it’s pretty cumbersome and awkward that show paint is essentially in 2 different places where I’m thinking is more just a quick toggle on/off per object.

Of course, an on/off switch for color per object would be extremely useful and practical.

But I’ve noticed something: whenever I come up with a feature request, it always seems very simple in my head. In reality, though, Stephane probably has to consider a thousand other things that such a change would affect.

I can imagine that a simple toggle like that could have implications for layers and who knows what else — lots of underlying systems we’re not even aware of.

So yes, some ideas sound straightforward at first, but they can be much more complex behind the scenes.

That said, I’m not a programmer. Maybe it actually is easy to implement. We’ll see.

True, actually I didn’t realize he was solo’ing this project. Honestly for $35 this program is amazing. It has tonnes of QoL things that are great and there is already a mountain of work on his plate.
