Hello, this is the problem I found.
In version 1.90, I could pin the axis of one object and then use Pivot to edit the axis of another object so that their axes are the same, but this doesn’t work in 1.91.
That’s the intended behaviour, pin isn’t meant to modify other object’s pivot.
It’s meant to modify multiple objects with the same gizmo.
And “Pivot” is meant to position the gizmo without impacting the object(s).
Oh, let me elaborate on my question.
I want “Object A” to have an axis at the same position as “Object B” so that A can control B easily.
The method I use is to Pin the axis of the B object,
then click on the A object, open the Pivot of the A object,
then edit the axis (just touch the axis lightly),
and finally close Pivot. The axis position of object A can be the same as that of object B. The objects are the same.
This method can no longer be used in 1.91.
Could you have the option to do that? Its crucial to my process
Why not using hierarchy?
I understand what you meant, what I’m telling you is that it wasn’t the intended behaviour, it was a bug.
And it’s not clear when the pivot should be “copied”, is it when you select another object? Or when you “unpin”? Previously pin tended to screw many objects own pivot.
Pin is meant to be a one-off. Maybe I could add a side button when it’s activated to choose between “unpin” vs “unpin+copy” pivot.
Ohhh, unpin & copy that sounds good.
It would be interesting to have the pivot with snap options on vertices and also on the grid!
Using hierarchy is the basic method,
But sometimes the model has too many components, and I need to slowly open and search to adjust the axis of a specific object temporarily. Therefore, I used the above method, which allows me to quickly and intuitively click on additional controllable objects.
So I accidentally discovered that although this is wrong, it is also a convenient method.
