Nomad crashes in shortcut finder

THE PLATFORM: Android, Windows
NOMAD APP VERSION: 2.5

I just tested version 2.5 and it has the same problem. The program crashes when using the shortcut finder. This doesn’t happen with version 2.3.32; numeric entries in the gizmo and other sections work better.
In Android version 2.5, the virtual keyboard in the file finder also doesn’t work, but the app doesn’t crash; it just doesn’t activate the keyboard.

fyi I can’t replicate none of that, so I need to know more information on your OS version (and for android what’s your device).

  • For windows, try the “use nomad dialog” in the interface menu.
And I suppose it crashes as well if you rename a project or an object? (just want to make sure it’s simply the native windows popup that’s buggy)
  • For Android, you don’t have a connected keyboard?

On Windows 11, it doesn’t work whether the Nomad dialog is enabled or disabled. Renaming objects or the project doesn’t cause any problems. I’ve included a video.
On Android, I’m using a Xiaomi 12t with HyperOS 2.0 and Android 15, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of ROM. Enabling or disabling the Nomad dialog doesn’t fix the problem either, and I don’t use a Bluetooth keyboard, only a virtual keyboard. Then I use Nomad on a Huawei MatePad 11.5s with Harmony OS, and the same problem as on my 12t occurs: it doesn’t activate the virtual keyboard when using the shortcut finder.

Thanks, I should be able to fix it for Android.

For Windows I was on the wrong lead, someone else a while ago had a crash on the native windows popup. I’ll check if I can replicate.

thanks a lot

Hello, I reported the same bug in Android. See my post for a detailed description of the problem. Thank you.

The Android issue will be fixed.

For the windows version, I can’t replicate.
Can you check if you have a crash.log file in the Nomad user folder (folder path is shown in the about menu).

Q1. Is it crashing with the other search bar? (See screenshot)

Q2. And if you enable “use nomad dialog”, does renaming stuffs still work?

Good day. Today I reactivated the dialog in this version, and this time it worked, whether enabled or disabled, like magic. Just in case, I’ll paste what the crash file says.

I hope for a solution for the Android version. Thank you very much, and I apologize; yesterday with this version and before with the previous one, the option failed to enable or disable it. I don’t know what happened; I had this problem for several days.

Sorry to write again. I’ve noticed when the problem occurs on my PC. My native language is Spanish, and the shortcut finder fails when I use Nomad in that language. It works fine when I use it in English. Is there a solution?

That was the missing information I needed, thanks!
I’ll be able to fix it now.

I’ve just finished testing update 2.6 on PC and Android. The problems with the shortcut finder have been fixed. Thank you very much.
