Hello.
I need to know where to properly transfer my environment from my iPad to my PC. I have hundreds of files, keyed projects organized into folders, such as tool definitions, alphas, and environment settings. Several gigabytes in size.
I also need to decide where these files will be stored, probably eventually on another drive.
First, where exactly do I put everything? I have several .zip files containing my entire archive, respecting the iPad’s native folder structure.
I’ve searched everywhere, but I only find local information in AppData/Local and AppData/Roaming. When I try to paste my files there, they disappear, or I end up with a Data/Data folder. Or, Noamd gives me a “permission denied” error when I try to open it. In short, it’s a mess!
Is there a complete tutorial somewhere? I don’t see anything pinned, even though this must be the constant problem for everyone who has installed Nomad desktop version and wants to find their familiar environment on iPad.

In the About menu there’s a button to change the main user folder.
Note that if Nomad cannot write in the folder it will fallback in AppData/Local, it typically happens if you enabled “controlled access” in Windows with the Documents folder.
Technically you can share the same iCloud folder in iPad and PC but it would be wary about it: on PC the iCloud app is sometimes doing weird things (duplicating some files when it struggle to synchronize).

OK, thank you so much for this lifesaving answer!
If iCloud on your PC is acting up, have some of you adopted another sharing solution (Google Drive or something else)?
I think I’ve finally recovered my entire environment without any data loss. For those who want to do the same, here’s what you need to do:
-
Create an empty folder on your computer.
-
Open Nomad and specify the path.
-
Open the folder and copy your data.
If you create a folder, place your files in it, then open Nomad and specify the path, it’s a disaster because Nomad recreates all the folders and places all your files in a subfolder like “data/data/..”.
