Is there a way to make a perfectly straight tube along 2 axes?

Hi, I love this program, but I cannot figure out how to make a perfectly straight tube along two axes. I have tried, for example, using a “plus” shaped box and trying to snap to it, and it gets pretty close, but it still requires me to manually position it and I can never get it perfect. Have also tried doing something similar with two planes, snapping to one from the “right” perspective, then the other from the “top” but since each view only locks direction in one plane, I again have to manually be perfect. I’m an engineer so it drives me crazy to not have a way to make it exact, lol.

And of course my problem is multiplied by however many nodes I add to the tube.

So am I just missing it, or is this something I just have to eyeball and let close be good enough?

It is only possible by eye. For this example, a cylinder and rotation snapping are recommended.

Version 1.91 will have Insert Tube primitive, which places a straight two point tube on the green axis. That is the most accurate you will get the tube, however, as the next node you add will not be so accurate.

Nomad needs snap points for tube . Same concept as gravity sketch … a 3d point grid would allow point to point accuracy.

Sounds good, thanks!

Okay, thank you. I just love the feature of the tube being able to edit the cross section.

1.91 has vertex snapping so now you can set a straight tube line once validated
