Test with a higher polycount to see if it gets better.
What does your falloff look like, is it straight at the moment for example ? Does your Alpha have soft transitions…
For seams, the method with the Brush Tool and the Alpha is rather unsuitable, because you simply need too high a polycount, and the seams are not separate. Sometimes the method with the Tube Tool is better:
You can also use “dynamic topology” to only add polygon where it’s needed.
