Clone Tube while in Edit

Did you remove this function? If I remember correctly we were able to clone while in editing mode. It’s a bit cumbersome to have to switch to Transform first then back to edit mode.

Ah yes, you are either in primitive edit mode or in transform/gizmo mode.

I might add back the previous behaviour, but I don’t really like to have the viewport crowded with both gizmo and primitive handlers.
I think I should add a preference option.

Wait, why is it crowded? When in tube edit mode, the only difference is that the clone button is there on the left panel, is it not?

What’s crowded is the viewpoint, you got the gizmo + the tube handlers.

The context is either:

  • you control the tube
  • or the tool (gizmo or transform)

For my work style the best solution is to simply hit Clone while in edit mode, which immediately puts the new clone into edit mode, allowing me to quickly adjust its points.

Imagine creating a hand: I make a tube for one finger, hit Clone, move the points, and repeat the process for the other fingers. This method is ideal for cloning tubes for nearby use. For larger movements, the gizmo would still be more efficient.
