When using brushes (any sculpting brush), there is a noticeable latency between the moment the stylus touches the tablet and the response on the object’s surface. As the brush continues to move across the object, there is no delay.
In ZBrush, the response is immediate.
On the iPad Mini (A17), everything also runs very smoothly and without lag.
I’ve attached a screen recording.
I hope it clearly shows the issue in question.
In addition to the problem mentioned above, the video shows that the buttons also lag and don’t respond when I try to click them while switching brushes.
Ok so it has nothing to do with sculpting, I suppose it happens with camera as well.
In postprocess menu, denoise is disabled?
Does it happen with the mouse, or just pencil? And with wintab on?
Did you try to set low gpu power to off and then restart the app?
Hi. Also running Nomad 2.9.8 on a Mac Studio with a Wacom pen tablet. I had a similar problem with lag selecting tools and menus. I turned off vsync and also set Low power gpu to no. I also turned off Wacom multitouch (I have the latest Intuos Pro that does not have touch). I restarted and it would still experience a delay when trying to move my cursor to select a tool. Then I realized I have my Wacom, my Bluetooth keyboard and Apple Magic Trackpad. When I have the BT keyboard and Trackpad, Nomad is really slow and there is a few second delay. I turn on my Wacom and then everything runs smoothly. Maybe it has to do with your bluetooth devices that you also have plugged in. Hope any of my experience helps you!
It looks like I’ve solved the problem. The stylus stopped lagging after I disabled the Better Touch Tool app from using Bluetooth in Nomad Sculpt (Disable BTT for …).
Before that, I tried every possible option. I disabled all the settings you recommended.
I disconnected my mouse (Logitech MX Master 4) from my MacBook via Bluetooth and switched it to the Bolt receiver. After that, I restarted the laptop, but the stylus still lagged.
It wasn’t until I disabled Bluetooth for Nomad Sculpt in the Better Touch Tool app that the stylus stopped lagging.
Thank you all for helping me figure out the problem.
I was just about to restart my iPad thinking it was a memory issue, but adjusting the response delay fixed it instantly. Definitely makes the sculpting experience much smoother now.
