Used the layer tool. When undoing part of the layer stroke does not undo.
Argh it’s bad.
If I can reproduce the issue myself I could find a fix, do you have a way to trigger the bug?
If seems you have multiple mesh in the scene, are you sure it’s not a second leftover mesh?

Yeah, I can imagine this being tricky to reproduce. I have confirmed that the artifact is on the mesh pictured. The second (hidden) mesh was not affected.
Fortunately I was able to smooth and flatten the artifacts down.
The bug was triggered by a relatively fast stroke of Layer at high intensity followed by a finger tap undo. The majority of the Layer stroke went away, leaving what is pictured.
