App crashes on launch after complicated sculpt

I was sculpting a file that was 667.8 MB… it crashed while I was sculpting and now I can’t get it to reopen. Each time I try the screen is black for a moment and then crashes. Please help! I’d love to open it… so many hours on this file

Try closing all other apps running in the background, including Nomad, then launch Nomad into a new scene with just the sphere, and drop your resolution, and turn off any post processes that might be running before you attempt to load the file. It’s likely the sculpt is just eating up too much RAM at launch.

  1. Locate the crashing file in either the “project” or “Data” folder. Duplicate it, rename it, and then delete the original file so that Nomad no longer attempts to open it at startup.
  2. Open Nomad. In the “Quality / Postprocess etc” menu, temporarily lower the quality slider.
  3. Open the file that was causing the problem. Try decimating a few meshes or exporting a portion to another file to reduce its size.
  4. Reset the quality settings.

  1. Localisez le fichier qui plante soit dans le dossier “project” soit dans le dossier “Data”. Le dupliquer, le renommer puis supprimer le fichier d’origine afin que Nomad ne tente plus de l’ouvrir au démarrage.
  2. Ouvrez Nomad. Dans le menu “Quality / Postprocess etc” abaissez temporairement le curseur de qualité.
  3. Ouvrez le fichier qui causait problème. Arrangez vous pour décimer quelques meshes ou exporter une partie dans un autre fichier afin de réduire son poids.
  4. Rétablissez les paramètres de qualité.
