Annotations and Mesh colors for blocking

Just like the title says.

Annotations - being able to sketch on a layer that is able to be wiped

Mesh Colors - just making every new mesh a different color when blocking out forms. Pretty much when you go into the viewport options in the upper right in blender and click “random” under “colors”


Each mesh has its own color - simply select ID under Shading.
Or do you mean something else?


Wow, this is great! The only thing is the colors are flat. Is there a way to keep the rendering? It seems that the shading goes away once your choose “ID”.

I think no. Maybe use post process - ambient occlusion and curvature to make it look nicer.
I personally use the face groups for colored meshes, they just look nicer than the ID mode.
