Android users - can you help please?

I’m in the Apple ecosystem so I transfer all my STL files from my MacBook to my iPad via AirDrop. I have a friend who just got an android tablet and was asking me if there is a similar way to transfer files from his Windows laptop to his android tablet. I’ve heard of this thing called Quickshare, but I don’t know if that’s the only way to go and if it’s any good.

Can anyone share their experiences and/or recommendations for transferring files from their Windows laptop/desktop to an android tablet?

Thank you for your help!

For Android/Windows, usb transfer should work fine.

Personally I regularly use https://pairdrop.net/ to transfer between my Mac and Windows. You need to be on the same wifi (there’s no upload). For secure stuffs double check that you are on the correct website.

If you got Google Drive or DropBox you can also use these.

Thank you Stephomi

There are many options:

  1. QuickShare is a good standard because it works across all Android Devices and Windows. In some Network Configurations it can just sometimes be a bit slower
  2. For Windows 11 users there is also the Option of Microsoft SmartPhone Link.
  3. Pairdrop in the Browser that was already mentioned
  4. Local Send is also a very good and very fast Software that works across all platforms.

Thank you Leif
