This really is a step back from previous.
The drop down, seems to overly complicate a functionality that was so simple and just worked so quickly and easily, by cycling through the steps.
It is just adding extra steps, and buttons and personally I fail to see any reason for that change.
Maybe let us at least keep the cycling like previous versions, and then maybe add a long press to get the menu pop-up
