Viewport Subdivision / Dynamic Subdiv / Polygon Cage as Subdiv

Would be really useful to have an option to preview the subdivided mesh without actually applying the subdivision.

On my modeling workflow for animation, I have to retopologize my sculpt, and then adjust the final mesh for fine-tuning the model.
For this last fine-tuning step I always end up going back to zbrush just because I can ‘sculpt’ the low resolution, retopologized mesh, by moving the vertices as I can see what the subdivided result looks like.

Ideally, my workflow would be:
Nomad for sculpting.
Any DCC software for retopology.
Back to Nomad for fine-tuning the final mesh.

I understand that Nomad focuses on the sculpting aspect, but being able to work on production ready meshes would make a huge difference.

I agree, I would love that too!

As an alternative, Nomad Sculpt does have a Smooth Shading option, as well as a lock 1st subdiv level. Which means theoretically you could add a couple subdivs yourself, and just make sure to switch to your first subdiv when adjusting verts. (I don’t know how well this works, but maybe it’s worth a try!)

And maybe the smooth shading already simulates a “smooth” model at least a little bit.
