Tinkerings

I was trying to see if I could edit the title of my first post here but I don’t think that’s an option. I like how you guys keep all your projects in 1 thread/entry, it’s very tidy. I’ll just link it and keep everything else here from now on. If a mod can combine the threads or do some kind of forum edit magic, that’s cool with me. Sorry for the clutter.

I started doodling last night and ended up with this demon/devil face. I saw a tutorial about using the Stamp tool to make textures and I added some into the horns area. This program is so fun.

Frankenstein’s Monster doodle. I’m not 100% on that nose shape.

2nd project done. Sorta. I didn’t paint any details or anything, just solid colors. I’ve got a ton to learn about lighting, it’s really difficult to get it to look right. This is the best I can do with it for now. I made a backdrop but for some reason it always has a wavy texture to it. I got 1 picture but that wavy thing was all over the sculpt too. I don’t know what I did. lol

I hid the backdrop and the waviness cleared up.

This was a blast! I finished playing Alien Isolation last Friday and there’s a cute little bobble head on some of the desks and I knew I had to try and sculpt it. Because it’s mostly primitives, it came together pretty fast. Here’s a 1min time lapse from 2hours 20mins. I want one on my desk!! haha I made a quick and dirty animation of it bobbling using Krita.

I made myself a plan! I picked out some Super Mario characters to try and sculpt as a way to try and learn the program better.

1st was a Goomba. I tried to add in some texture to this but I don’t really get the stamp thing just yet. It’ll get there. I like how this render turned out, the mirror platform is fun. I didn’t stream this so there’s no time lapse.

Yesterday I aimed a little too high and tried to make a Shyguy. Man… that robe was tough, I didn’t quite get it but I don’t think it’s too rough. Clothing folds/flow is difficult enough to draw, let alone sculpt. Again, it’ll get there in time. I don’t like how the render turned out on this one. I don’t know, I just couldn’t get it to look how I was seeing it in my head. Renders are the true final boss. This was 4 hours.

Got a couple more added to the collection.

^ That image is so fun!! I followed a tutorial from Making Things that explains how to round the ends of cylinder primitives and I was able to make some pretty cool Mario style hands for the Bullet Bill. That dude’s videos are excellent. I also followed his video on making things glow and gave this some evil eyes.

This was fun, key is my favorite part.

Here’s the whole set so far. My tablet did not appreciate having all of these loaded at once. lol

Very kind of you to say, thank you.

Dry Bones

I’m digging the eyes a lot. This was the most tricky sculpt yet.

I tinkered a bit with a different pose.

Boo!

I was messing around with the repeater function at work yesterday and threw together this drum. What an amazing program! I’m definitely going to make a whole drumkit someday.

I feel like I leveled up a little with this one. It kinda looks like a toy statue. This was 6 hours, time lapse is 1min 30sec. I love this program, it’s so fun. I’m barely scratching the surface of what it can do and I’m having a blast.

This is a dream come true! Blender is silly complicated but I’m starting to wrap my head around it. I have no idea how to set up a scene and actually render out a video, I just focused on learning rigging and keyframe stuff. I just recorded this with OBS. Sooo many steps. Weight painting was… fun. Ugh. lol I’m psyched though! The future has endless potential.

Looks fire but how do you change the colour like look

In the interface options, scroll down to Color Widget and change it to whatever you like.
