No I can’t, it’s already optimized.
It’s not really a bug, more like a feature request.
I got ideas for faster approximated smooth based on voxel or something but it’s not really high priority.
Maybe you can enable dyntopo and decimate while you are smoothing.
I often enable dynamic topology for the smooth brush when smoothing large areas.
