Move tool tap to select new object

I am using the move tool on my ‘head’ mesh. When I use my pencil and tap the ‘Eyes’ mesh Nomad will not switch meshes from head to eyes. I have to select another brush (like clay) then tap the eyes. At that point Nomad registers that I want to switch meshes. Have I changed stroke settings of the move tool in a way to disallow item switching with tap?
