Is there any way to project an alpha onto the mesh using UVs?

I tried in the last few days to use an alpha in the UVs tab with the intention of being able to make a mask based on the colors of my alpha texture. I couldn’t find the method of doing this (if it exists) on my own. Does anyone have a tutorial on how to do this?

It only works with the opacity slot - put alpha in the opacity slot
then reproject - setting for reproject = opacity to mask …
