Curvature evaluation

Hi everyone,

is it possible to perform a curvature evaluation of the objects sculpt in Nomad sculpt? This would be helpful to understand how smooth is the surface. So you can see inflection points or areas with uneven curvature, in a similar way to Solidworks, Rhino or Alias

Does anyone have suggestions or tips?
Thank you very much in advance

a cheap trick is to use a grid pattern as a matcap.

Eg here’s a sphere in regular shading mode, looks fine:

But if you get a fine grid pattern and use it as a matcap, you can spot issues:

You can get creative with gradients and different line patterns, checkerboards etc to help you spot issues.

The other thing you can do is turn on curvature in post process and crank it up to like 900%:

The ZNormal matcap can be a good one to use

Good idea, the workarounds given are good, but an actual evaluated curvature mapped to a gradient could be quite useful.

For example you can find some at: Call for Content: MatCaps - #143 by RainerTrummer - User Feedback - Developer Forum

Same idea as x.com

It’s not really the same thing as a proper curvature check though.
I don’t have any plan on adding curvature for visualisation purposes.
Eventually at some point I might add a feature to allow painting on edges/bump/cavity.
