Hey there, I’m a complete beginner (just downloaded nomad) and I’m having issues with the paint tool. I can’t paint certain parts of my model, I can only change the color of the whole thing.
I was watching a tutorial and noticed a few things in my program looked different. First of all I don’t have a material ball in my left bar. Instead there’s this weird cube with raised sides. I also noticed that instead of a paint brush symbol in the top right I had a paint pallette. I didn’t think much of this at first but when I opened it it was completely different then on the tutorial. It didn’t say painting - paint, and stroke painting was greyed out. I also again don’t have the material ball but instead the cube thing again and a flat surface showing how the paint would fade. When I try to select the color of my paint it just changes the color of my whole model.
I am completely stumped and haven’t been able to find any solutions online. Does anyone know what’s going on and how I can fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you have erase enabled over on the left there.
It also looks as though you may be using version 1.95. So things could possibly be in the process of being updated. I am from the U.S. and am currently on version 1.94 and things seem to be not working correctly. I can’t seem to use the UV unwrap on a scene with hair involved…You could try to occasionally check in to see if there has been an update to possibly fix any potential bugs. There were a lot of updates that occurred in rapid succession this past December. Some things are also dependant upon whether or not you have the one time paid licensing (full version of Nomad Sculpt). Stephane is usually pretty on top of it with bug fixes. So it may be a matter of waiting a little bit. This response is mostly in regard to some of the differences you may be seeing compared to the tutorials. I am also a newer user so am not completely certain of when things are acting wonky or if it is just something I am not doing right…lol.
Ah well I feel stupid now . Thank you very much that fixed it!
Paint and smudge don’t need the checkbox, it’s implicitly always enabled.
