Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with the brush cursor preview in Nomad Sculpt on my iPad Pro (M5) using Apple Pencil Pro.
Ever since the recent iPadOS 27 update, the brush outline / cursor preview is no longer visible on screen when sculpting.
What I’ve already checked/tried:
The cursor still doesn’t show at all. Is this a known bug with the latest iPadOS 27 update, or is there a specific setting I might have missed?
Attached is a screen recording showing the issue.
Thank you very much for any help!

SOLVED
I found the fix for this!
The issue is caused by an interaction conflict with the iPadOS Zoom controller. When the Zoom controller is active, tapping it once with the Apple Pencil Pro disables the hover preview/focus inside Nomad, and tapping it a second time re-enables it.
@stephane — Leaving this detail here so you can look into how interacting with the iPadOS Zoom controller overlay interferes with Nomad’s input handling when you have time for a future patch!
Hello again!
I am posting this to show you what the actual problem was. Because I have low vision, I use the Zoom feature from Apple’s Accessibility settings on my iPad. After the recent update, this feature causes a conflict.
When Zoom is enabled, the hover preview / brush cursor for the Apple Pencil Pro in Nomad Sculpt does not work properly (it doesn’t show exactly where the pencil tip is pointing). However, tapping the Zoom controller once with the pencil restores the cursor preview and it works perfectly again!
I am sharing the screen recording here (on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil Pro.

@stephane Leaving this detail here so you can look into it when you have time. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future patch!
I cannot fix it, it’s an iPadOS thing, it happens on other app as well.
Best you can do is file a bug in the feedback assistant but not clear if they are going to fix it.
