Hej folks,
I just wanted to warn everybody off of Anycubic’s Photon M3Plus printer. I own one since not quite 3 years and had a lot of trouble with it. Now that my second LCD screen is defect after 50 printed models, I contacted their support and learned that this printer series is discontinued, which means all the spare parts and accessories are sold out.
As the printer is still on sale with a lot of Anycubic’s contract sellers (who need to clear their stock now), I would recommend that you think twice when you plan to buy an M3Plus, regardless of how high a discount is offered. I personally - after some annyoing experiences with Anycubic - will change to another resin printer manufacturer.
Best of luck to you, Richard from RCStudio

I had a lot of issues with the Anycubic M3 as well. Customer support was good and sent me out parts (free) but still had issues. Finally got sick of it and switched to Elegoo and haven’t had issues.
I’ve had 3 other Anycubic printers though and they all worked great. Maybe it’s just the M3 line?

Hej RogerRoger, so nice to hear from you. I also have another Anycubic Printer, the Photon Mono. It is too slow meanwhile for my workflow, and I need a bigger printing chamber, but otherwise it’s totally ok. Apart from a new FP film I needed once in all these years, I never had any issues.
I think it’s possible that Anycubic killed the M3 line for all the problems their customers experienced. But I think they should have owned up and informed at least all the buyers they had mail contacts from. This way whoever wanted to could have bought their private stock of necessary parts.
Anyway, I am also thinking about an Elegoo printer, maybe the Saturn 3 Ultra 12k.
That would be a nice printer. I have the Mars 3 Pro. It’s smaller but it works great. After having a couple large build plate printers, I decided I hate dealing with them. For me, it seems like the bigger the plate, the easier it is to make a mess
My prints are usually small and if I need something large, I switch to fdm.
I have also had problems with my M3 (not Plus). Most recently, the build plate supports worked themselves loose. Anycubic told me there were no replacement parts left for a machine purchased new directly from them less than a year prior. They pointed me at their then-current sale on newer models.
With a lot of fiddling, I was able to repair the printer, and am still using it. I am likely to replace it with something from a different manufacturer in the future.
This is a very interesting point about the size of build plate. I was looking for a larger printer when I had some customer requests for large size figurines that served as mascots in club rooms or in storefront windows, and my attempts at breaking the model up in pieces and then putting them together seamlessly after the print weren’t too successful. A few pieces always came out warped enough to not let them fit together without some heavy use of putty. Right now I have an order for some prints of a submarine model I sculpted, with a requested length of 25cm. I could cut the model’s length in half and then print it in two steps on my small Photon Mono, but I am afraid I will not be able to cover the seam between the two parts without a painful lot of work I can’t charge my customers with. On the other hand, for my main business a small printer like the Mono is sufficient. I must make a smart business decision here …
Hi evermorian, I am sorry to learn about yet another bad experience with Anycubic policy. I was a fan of Anycubic when I started into the 3D printing world, and I am very disappointed by this. This is the answer I received yesterday on my very polite message to their support team that in the circumstances I would not consider to buy another Anycubic printer again:
“Dear Richard,
I truly understand your frustration and disappointment, and I’m extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Our product discontinuation is a result of rapid technological advancements in the industry, but we clearly failed to support you well enough.
We value your loyalty over the years deeply, and it pains us to hear that you’re considering leaving. If there’s any way we can still change your mind, perhaps by offering a more substantial discount on a new machine that better suits your long - term needs or exploring alternative solutions for your current printer issue, please do let us know.
Best regards,
Gavin
Anycubic”
At least they are very polite and don’t give up readily in their attempts to score a new sale … :-))

I got suckered into this Anycubic M3 scam too. I don’t own the Plus. Still don’t understand why they discontinue? There are older printers with older technology not discontinued and still usable and buy l can buy parts.
Although, mine is still fairly new with only a dozen prints. But when i saw they discontinued a while back i started searching where i could buy parts if something goes bad. Mine still works but unfortunately i think ebay is our best bet for parts or “after market” parts.
Hej toonimator, sorry to hear you are one of the “victims” of this product policy, too. It’s the same with me - they support an older printer but discontinue the newer one. I can only assume that their newer product lines are too faulty compared to the old ones.
Hej everybody, this is the last message I received from Anycubic’s support, fresh from my email this morning: “(…) Regarding the LCD screen accessories you mentioned, we would like to explain that since this machine has been discontinued for a long time, the LCD screen accessories of this machine are no longer in stock. The LCD screen of this machine is specially customized and therefore cannot be purchased on the market. We are very sorry about this. (…)”
Nothing left to say, I guess …
