This setup allows you to use a reference image on a plane in a flexible, adjustable way. Instead of locking yourself into rigid proportions, you can easily tweak, deform, and correct the image directly in your scene, making it ideal for visual alignment, sculpting guides, or general blocking where precision can be refined progressively.
I’m aware that the reference may not be perfectly accurate in terms of pixel measurements. To achieve exact scaling, you would need to input precise dimensions, and I haven’t found a reliable method for that yet. For now, if you need strict accuracy, it’s better to use Blender: set up a plane with exact measurements there, apply the texture, and then import it. That approach is more precise.
This is my current way of setting up the plane, and I hope it’s useful to you all.
