I know you can see overlaps in x-ray mode and when changing opacity, but with complex models, it is really difficult and time consuming.
Would be great if there was a way to highlight sections were meshes overlap.

Why not use Facegroups? Then you can easily see the different model colors showing through.
I do that but with complex models that have many inner parts, holes and links, with multiple meshes very close together, it’s difficult to find small overlaps. (I create models for 3d printing)
