Very cool

Thanks guys.
I just added a new transform icon, as I never got triggered to the old one

And some quick fun from default sphere via all new masking options.
Joint after with “keep topology” on in project advanced menu.

Quite reasonable topology

Where is?

Changed some more. Better?

Out of curiosity, did you keep the mesh for all of those?

Back when I did the icons, I’ve been thinking about storing only 2 images so that I could quickly re-render them:

  • normal render of the shape (if I want to change the default lighting or matcap setup for icons)
  • separate albedo (1-2 color only, in order to customize the color by the user)

By default I prefer strong accent color but some artist like grey interaface so that’s why I chose “neutral grey-ish color”.

It’s the default sphere with one layer per icon. Works very nicely. Only 6,7 MB.
But layer wasn’t available when you did the icons I guess.

I agree, a neutral setup is best for majority. And you did great. I almost didn’t do much different. I am used to it too much already. The only icon which never triggered me was transform. But if the finger is a lucky choice? I don’t know.
Probably I’ll go back to little cube instead of finger.
But lots of people oversee transform, maybe the icon is one of the reasons?

I reduce all Icons in Artstudio Pro, which has some snappy transformation tool. Rendering 128x128px in Nomad with post messed up somehow. I have some heavy AO settings.

That seemed to be the issue.

Webdemos new Boolean is in very early stage, but super powerful already!

I need a break from this guy.
Some bits are missing like veins for ears, better eye etc etc.
Later….

Final renders with some hair and veins.
At the end I was only able to work in Matcap mode. PBR and post stressed my older iPad Pro 10,5” quite a lot. But Matcap mode was quite responsible.
I could have decimated parts though.
Using textures, sometimes just normals for micro detail helped a lot.

So here is my finished Alien general

Thank you guys, thanks a lot.

With new booleans I stepped into something which is not my genre.
But futuristic war machines are vary grateful for clueless crazy booleans. :vulcan_salute:

Maybe I’ll keep going on this one.
Maybe not.

Edit, and some free figures to see scale.

I call this done. Too much real battles ongoing than it it needs more virtual ones. Still fun though. Human mind is stupid!
