Remember Original File Location When Saving Projects

First of all, thank you for creating such an amazing application. Nomad Sculpt has become an essential part of my workflow, and I genuinely enjoy using it.

I’d like to suggest a feature that I think would make the macOS version fit much more naturally into a desktop workflow.

Right now, if I open a .nom file from one of my own project folders, pressing Save (⌘S) saves the project to Nomad Sculpt’s internal Projects folder instead of overwriting the file I originally opened.

I keep each project in its own directory, alongside my Cinema 4D files, textures, references, exports, and the corresponding .nom file. Because of the current behavior, I have to manually export the updated .nom file back into the project folder every time I finish sculpting.

It would be great if Nomad could remember where a project was opened from. If I open an existing .nom file, pressing Save should simply update that same file—just like Cinema 4D, Blender, Photoshop, and most other desktop applications.

I think this would make project management much smoother while keeping the current internal project library available for users who prefer that workflow.

Thanks again for all your work on Nomad Sculpt. It’s an incredible piece of software, and this small change would make it fit even better into a professional desktop pipeline.

First option in the Files menu, set “in-place” instead of “internal”.
