I’m having an issue placing a flat nameplate to a curved base. I’ve tried using the various move tools and was able to create the curve in my base, but that technique isn’t working for my nameplate. I double checked my symmetry settings, but it seems to not move equally the way i want it to. I was thinking I need to use the project tool, but cant figure out how to use it. I feel so dumb, I can normally teach myself by watching videos, but I’m ready to pull out my hair.
I believe the Reproject vertices option for this type of 3D mesh is currently not working (ray bias 100%) I’ve already run several tests to verify that.
In your case, for projecting the nameplate onto the surface, it would be better to use the standard Project tool instead. Use top view and Draw the curve along the base where the nameplate needs to be projected, and then project it using that method. This approach prevents the vertices from scattering and works reliably through the layer you are using.

Thank you very much. I will try to figure out how to do it that way. I really enjoy your videos, they are very helpful. ![]()
