If there was a mode to normal brushes like clay or crease to draw perfectly straight strokes, or a single curved stroke along a vector, that would be really useful for creating hard surface details.

Crazy, but till it is implemented get a real life transparent plastic ruler. Does the job quite well.

Yes, an option for precise straight lines and curves would be really handy and is still missing as an option for the tools.
