Boolean subtraction problem

when i do a boolean subtraction, in many cases it creates holes between the mashes and consequently leaves several openings.
why does this happen?

Can you send me the file (just before the Boolean)?
I can take a look.

Otherwise you can try the web demo to see if the issue is already fixed

I prova.nom (322 KB)
I prova 2.nom (536 KB)

One of the mesh has non manifold edge.
Boolean inputs should be strictly manifold and watertight.
There’s a cleanup pass in Nomad but it’s not 100% foolproof.

Thank you for helping me identify the problem and for the thorough explanation. The only doubt that remains is: how is it possible that there are openings left, if the object is composed of 4 cylinders created in Nomad and then joined with the boolean function?
What am I doing wrong?
