I’m trying to add some cloth to a model, but I find it extremely hard to fit a model around a ball / head. I can move a lot into place, but I can’t figure out how to bend part of an object. I know I can mask a part of the object, and then use the gizmo tool to rotate the unmasked area, but that is quit cumbersome.
Is there a smarter way to form a plane around a balll?
You could always try creating a shape similar to the object you want to wrap on. So if it’s a torso create a duplicate of the torso and simplify its shape and smooth any detail out. Then you could use the mask tool to draw the clothes pattern onto it. Then do a mesh extract. This will be high poly but you will get a good contoured shape.
There might be a better way.
Extract and sculpting from there seems the way to go right now. The fancy cloth features Zbrush has aren’t included and I can imagine that there are a lot of other priorities. Extract can be pretty good if used properly.
