After updating to version 2.4, the file thumbnails are not displaying

Yep it’s a known issue, will be back.

Would it be possible to have the reference images sorted in the order of upload? They are currently sorted by name.

Nah all the assets except projects are sorted by name.
There’s no “correct” default, but at least you control the sorting a bit with name.
With “latest” you lose control. One day I’ll change a bit the ui around assets.
