Adding elements to other files

Can I add the layers I select, to another file? Example I have file 1 with a (character A) that has a hat. I want to select the hat only and put it on (character B) in file 2. Is that possible?

You can delete everything from the project other than the hat. Save the project. Open the other project and select add to scene, select the project with the hat in it.

Select the hat.

Then EXPORT - NOM FILE - AND there is a export setting - SELECTED ONLY

Open the file where you need the hat and import the file.
