A boolean trim or split option to cut objects

Like a trim or split with setting none. So no hole filling

Like in this image - boolean the cube to cut the tube - but keep the mesh open…

What’s the use case? Will you need this repeatedly? Just wondering because since you get poly group you can just easily delete that part.

Then again, this could be part of would I wished for, the Boolean slash/ cut (3D split )

Ha, sometimes I post a feature request with some idea—without thinking about it too much.

In this case, it’s actually the same as your request for your 3D split

with the additional option for fill holes YES/NO, if possible.
