Hello, I have the Nomd for PC (recently purchased) using the most recent version and because of the revent website issues you were having recently I was not able to use the software at all and was not aware that the software called home for activation at every time the software opened up.
Sometimes we go travelling or travel to a place with no internet. Does this mean I can’t use the software at all during these times?. I can go into demo mode but not very good as I need to save my projects.
I thought the activation happened only once after installing and then the software would work locally everytime after that. I didn’t realise the software was critically dependant on an internet connection.
The website says there’s a 15 days offline grace https://nomadsculpt.com/
The reason is: mostly to handle refund correctly (license revocation) but also anti-piracy
If the nomad server is down or if you don’t have internet access, Nomad will still run fine (as long as you are in the 15 days period).
Note that the conditions were already relaxed as the older version of Nomad were returning incorrect licensing when the server was down.
I might increase the grace period one day but usually it’s not the issue.
Yesterday was a bit different as I did migrate the server and reworked some licensing stuffs (precisely to make it more robust in the long run) but for a short period of time the server was ON but could return incorrect licensing.
But usually what people saw yesterday was just an offline warning as it was down.
In practice the people mostly affected were the one who wanted to “activate” a license (not “validate” it).
