Tube snapping now has an Align to Normal option. It would be great if the Curve Snap option in the side menu had a similar Align to Normal feature, but only for the insertion point—the first node.
And maybe with a offset setting - but only for the insert node… hmm 
This way, you could create tubes that initially grow straight out of the surface normal and then naturally curve or snake along afterward and snap to the surface.
A simple checkbox like “First Node Align to Normal” would be really useful. I hope this makes sense.
