Total failure with Sculpting cloth. Please help

I am trying to sculpt a king’s mantle.
I used a plain and a combination of the drag, pinch, crease and smooth tools.
But the results are horrible and awful.
I could not wrap the top around the “neck” and the rest look the worst.

Anyone has ideas/ tutorials on how to sculpt cloth, please?
Thanks in advance.

I’m still a beginner, so there might be better advice around here.

  1. I would approach this by starting from the top, getting that main “fur” piece right.
  2. When that’s done, I’d create a tube to create the top of the “cape”. I’d first make sure that it goes around and snaps to the “fur”.
  3. I’d then mask the top, revert the mask and use the move tool to drag the cape (tube) to the bottom, while voxel remeshing to create that volume.
  4. Keep moving it downwards until you have what looks like a cape.
  5. When that’s done, add some creases and smooth them out to create the details.
