Hi! I am very pleased to present to you a project that I have been working on for a long time. I have always wanted to blur the line between traditional and digital sculpting. Now thanks to this tool, artists will be able to touch the traditional tools in the digital world.

What is new:

  • Correct light settings

The groups are instance now?

Instance can be done only for fingers. Because flipping will flip your hands too.

You can update the figures again, now it is possible to mirror groups with instances - and validate the Mirror Node again - after validation they are mirrored groups with INSTANCES - so the symmetry continues to work for the mirrored instances, even if they are rotated in space with the gizmo…

I think it was a bug, 1.67 had some bugs concerning pivot as well.

1.68 should be more stable, normally it can read pivot from version <1.65 or beta 1.66


Not sure how important it is to have symmetry limbs.
The only way with instances is to have a flip matrix somewhere (scale x -1), that’s what the mirror node is basically doing.

The upside is you can sculpt symmetrically with any pose (technically you can also do posable symmetry but Nomad doesn’t have it).
The downside to flip matrix is you can have weird shading or behaviour in some softwares.
In Nomad, it should be fine.

Yes! Thanks for tip. I tryed this method too. But if I add mirror just for one hand for example - you will lose poseable - because they will be moving together and this lost sense. And If I make instance of one hand and apply Mirror - its works but we have one more hand in space. And we can’t delete or hide it because it delete source too.

UPD: I try to disable validate for children - and it’s works!

Great, I’m dealing with this too, where is the option to “disable validate for children”?

Delete for example right hand(foot), add mirror(repeater)for left hand(foot) chain. Correct position and press Validate, and disable option ( join children’s)
Anyway I will add separate model with some new options.
